And the side characters? I love them all so much. Seriously, the characters are just so good. You never quite know who to trust, but despite that, I still became obsessed with almost every single character in this book. The pacing is fast, with constant action and intrigue, and fantastic twists. I think it is because they are so cute and enjoyable. Then there is a bit of romance mixed in which is genre I am enjoying more and more as I get older. This January there are a large number of fantasy books on my list as I felt that last year I didn’t read enough, so I am diving in with books like Jade Fire Gold by June CL Tan and Little Thieves by Margaret Owen. So this year I am going to learn from my mistake and set a more achievable goal of 40 books to read this year in the hope that I will go above it but I am not going to pressurise myself into that.
Last year I decide to put a really high goal of 120 books and I didn’t achieve it. A new year and a new Goodreads challenge (panicking inside as it scares me).
